Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

Is It Worth It?

Sometimes I wonder how important my job is. Usually my mornings start with two hungry boys that need breakfast, and they need it fast. My day begins with juggling scrambled eggs, dirty diapers, my husband's lunch, and somehow fitting my cup of coffee in. From there we move on to the back yard for volcano creations, stick fighting, and mud pies. By this time, I've given up on cleaning and I make a vow to myself that I will be a diligent housewife while my boys are napping.

"Is it all it worth it?" I ask myself. "Absolutely!" I tell myself. It would be so easy to  live my life complaining about how I need more "me time". Each day we have with our children is important. The minutes, hours, and days all count. As soon as my husband leaves for work I have two sets of eyes looking up at me, waiting for guidance. What will I teach them today?

The task we have is enormous and I am so humbled by it. Most days I lose my temper. I often have to apologize to my three-year-old, and I struggle with complaining. I can't tell you how many times I've looked in the mirror and wondered how God will use a failure like me to raise these little ones to love Him.

The more time I spend in God's word, I am reminded that it is only by His grace that my boys will be godly men. It's that simple. It is His grace that saves us and it is His grace that is constantly transforming us to be the moms that our children desperately need.

We will have days of discouragement but that does not change who Christ is in our lives. He will use me, a failure, to raise up my boys into godly men. There is no room for pride, only room for humility and adoration for God's grace.

The best way I know how to guide my children is to teach them God's word. A few of our favorite books to read to our three-year-old are children's books about God. Not only have these books brought up wonderful conversation about God's love and character, but I am also becoming a better mom from these books. My children aren't the only ones learning about God, I am too, and how awesome that we can learn along side our little ones.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.                          --Hebrews 4:12

Give your children God's word, it is the best guidance you can give. One day they will grow, and it is with the deepest desire of our mommy-souls that we want them to know and love God. The time we spend with our kids is worth it; every minute, hour, and day.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. --Psalm 119:105
