Winter dries my skin out and honestly, sometimes store bought, brand name bar soap does, too, despite all the promises of "soft, silky skin". Combined, I often find myself itching and scratching my overly dry skin. Now, I admit, some of that can be attributed to lack of adequate water intake. But, most of it is from the dry winter weather and the use of the heat in the house.
I was so excited to be able to try out the Bend Soap Company's goat milk products. I couldn't wait for them to arrive to give my poor skin some relief, and I was not disappointed.
Just opening the box sent an aroma of deliciousness through my home. I put on the lotion right away and it was creamy and thick. It smelled wonderfully of coconuts!
None of the products contain chemicals or dyes. What you'll find in the base of all their bar soap is goat milk, coconut oil, olive oil, and palm oil. They don't use GMO oils or sodium lauryl sulfate, which ironically dries out skin because it dissolves the oil from your skin. You can read more about what they don't put in their soaps here.
Whatever it is, my great dane found it pretty tempting because we caught her trying to eat the soap right out of the bath tub!
My son, who suffers from eczema, has increasingly improved since using Bend Soap products. He is using the oatmeal and honey bar soap in conjunction with the Island Coconut lotion. They have specific products designed especially for people who suffer with eczema.
I also find they are very reasonably priced. I love that they are a family business because I am all about supporting small, family businesses. Marilee and her husband Dwight have seven children--7 boys and 1 girl and they are just adorable! You can read more about their story here.
