I like to the idea of journaling Bibles. Really, I do.
The issue is that I can’t always be creative while reading my Bible. I almost always read my Bible in the morning and early in the morning... I don’t always come up with the best ideas! Quite frankly, I usually have the same ideas, which include my breakfast, a hot drink, and fuzzy robe. After those ideas, I read my Bible and get my kids off to school, then I usually can begin the creative process.
I certainly like to take notes and underline things, but it would be fun to have some more colorful Bible margins, or at least a starting point to connect some color and creativity.
So, a friend just introduced me to the Inspire Bible. It is a single-column, wide-margin New Living Translation Bible with 400 illustrations dispersed throughout the Bible. All the pages have two-inch-wide margins. On the pages without illustrations, you will find ruled space for notes and insights. You can select from Softcover, Hardcover, and LeatherLike editions.
Take a look at how gorgeous this is!
This Bible is great! You don’t have to think about how to draw out a verse, all you have to think about is how you’d like to color in the wording. This is a simpler design decision for me- one I could feel confident making in the morning!
Here is a snapshot from the gospel of Mark:
Don’t you love it already?
Another great thing about journaling Bibles is how it aids in verse memorization. In this case, the verse is already printed and you can focus on repeating the verse to yourself as you color. The Inspire Bible has the same therapeutic effect as a coloring book, except of course these words are alive!
How unique to be able to fill your Bible with your own personal touch. Even better is knowing the finish product won’t look awkward or messy (because heavens knows my journaling Bible can get a little crazy if I’m left to my own sketches.)
I hope you enjoy working through God’s Word, coloring the scriptures and memorizing the greatest truths this world has ever seen.
Whether you read your Bible in the morning, afternoon, or evening, this Bible will take out the guesswork, while still keeping the margins interesting. Artistry and God’s Word go so good together, kind of like a fuzzy robe with a little quiet time.
Enjoy all the stunning illustrations that are waiting for your creative touch in this Bible.
Happy Coloring,
Lindsey Feldpausch
