I remember the first time my parents bought me my very own "real" Bible! Do you remember your first full Bible? I had been using a pocket-size new testament that the church gave me for a long time. My parents came to the Lord just before they were 40 years old. I was 13 years old. Soon after our whole family understood the gospel message and began reading our Bibles and going to church each Sunday (instead of just on Christmas and Easter like I was used to) our parents bought us our own Bibles! What a wonderful day that was. My Bible, at the time had colorful inserts and everything seemed to be made for a girl just like me.
Today, I want to share two Bibles with you that can be the Bible that your kids receive as "their very first real" Bible. Perhaps you have a granddaughter, grandson, niece, nephew or even a godchild. This Bible would be an excellent gift!
Whether you are buying for a "girl" or "guy," these Bibles will be an eternal investment. Both Bibles are printed in the New Living Translation. Both have durable covers and both glow in the dark. Allow me to show some of the unique features that each of these Bibles offer.
The Girls Life Application Study Bible has pink, sparkly pages.
The cover and binding are durable, colorful and attractive.
This Bible, as well as the Guys Life Application Study Bible are loaded with features. This Bible is specifically designed for girls ages 9-13 years old. Here is a picture of the contents so that you can see some of the sections that will be of interest to the girl in your life who will be searching thorough the pages and soaking up all she can!
There are eye-catching inserts throughout the Bible that answer common questions and/or take the time to break things down in an understandable way.
One of my favorite features is the reading plan. When I was younger, my Bible had something similar and it was both a motivating and simple way to get started. This is a realistic reading plan of the greatest stories in the Bible which is an excellent idea for young girls as well as realistic.
The Guys Life Application Study Bible has the same durable cover and also a dot design, but you won't find any sparkles or pink pages. The contents are below so you can see the unique features offered within this Bible.
This Bible also has full color inserts throughout that are informative and engaging.
"Freeze Frame" is a section that highlights boys or men who have a personal faith story that is beneficial for boys to read and remember. It will strengthen the reader as he steps out in his own faith!
"Amazing Facts" is a section that drops tidbits of information or helps the reader to test retention on certain Bible stories.
The memory verse section will be helpful for boys looking to commit key passages of scripture to memory.
Both of these Bibles have so much to offer! I am thrilled that young girls and guys have this resource! God's word does not return void and I love that Tyndale took so much care in creating something specifically designed for kids who might be receiving their very first Bible.
Just like I dived into my first complete Bible, I hope your son, daughter, niece, nephew, granddaughter, grandson or godchild finds this Bible and treasures the transformative truths found within its covers. Looking at these Bibles takes me right back to the joy I had when I looked at my own Bible's color inserts and felt like I was understanding the Bible for the first time.
May the guys and girls in your life discover the same joy in the scriptures.
