New Family-Friendly Whole Food Meal Plans for a Healthier New Year!
As we get ready to ring in a New Year, many of us have made a resolution to get back to (or get started with) eating healthier. And one of the best ways to get healthier meals on the table faster and easier is to discover The Joys of Meal Planning.
That’s why we’re super excited to reinstate the free weekly whole food meal plans here at The Better Mom starting this January 2019! Yay!
Unfortunately, it’s been many months since I’ve shared healthy whole food meal plans, and I do apologize for the interruption. I’m very thankful for your grace and patience, as I took time off this year for health & personal reasons. It has been a long journey of healing, but praise be to God for His continued grace in faithfully refining me, and proving His strength truly is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Thankfully, the Lord has enabled me to begin sharing my passion for healthy whole food cooking and meal planning again. So it is with much joy that I say thank you to Ruth and the Lord for the opportunity to once again serve you all with a very helpful and practical method for providing healthy meals for our families!
And the best part is, we’re making some exciting updates to our meal plans for the New Year ahead. Our new and improved, family-friendly meal plans include lots of helpful, time-saving strategies that will make it even quicker-n-easier to get healthy meals on the table that the whole family will love!
One of the key time-saving methods we’re including in each of our free weekly meal plans is a batch-cooking strategy that I call “Cook Once, Eat Twice or More.” In a nutshell, we’ll cook a double (or triple) portion of a main dish and use it to make multiple healthy-n-delicious meals.
How will this save time? Well, think of all the work that needs to happen to get a healthy meal on the table – there’s the preparation time, cooking time, and of course, everyone’s favorite – clean-up time! So, if we make a double batch of a main dish during one cooking session, we’re being far more efficient because we won’t have to repeat those same exact steps again in order to make even more meals.
That’s why, starting in January, each of our new healthy whole food meal plans will include three main dishes that can easily be turned into six or more family-friendly meals. We’re calling this new meal planning method – “6+ Meals from 3 Mains!” And if you’re like most moms – pressed for time and energy – I’m certain you’re going to love this new meal planning method!
How does it work? It’s simple. We’ll make an easy main dish like Slow Cooker Apple Cider Pulled Pork to create savory Pulled Pork with Sweet Potatoes & Slaw (as shown below). Then, we’ll use the extra pulled pork create even more quick-n-easy meals like BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders and Rustic Veggie Soup.
Another delicious example is roasting a large whole bird in our slow cookers so we can create simple-n-satisfying meal like Slow Cooker Rotisserie Style Chicken with root veggies. Then use the leftover chicken – and bones to make a healthy homemade stock – perfect for creating Creamy Chicken & Veggies Soup.
These are just a couple of examples of how we’ll easily create “6+ Meals from 3 Mains” in our free, weekly, whole food meal plans.
Another great feature of our new healthy whole food meal plans is that they serve as a great springboard for creating your own weekly meal plans. Whether you’re preparing dinner at home 7 days a week, or just 2-3 days a week, you’ll find our free, new meal plans to be helpful in reducing the amount of time and effort you spend in the kitchen – with the added benefit of serving more delicious, healthy meals!
Ready to get started? We are too! Join us in January as we usher in a brand new year of healthy whole food meal plans your whole family will love! Wishing you and your family a very blessed and healthy New Year! With blessings & gratitude, Kelly
