There’s a war for the minds of our teens. Have you sensed this? As parents, we have an opportunity to speak life and prayer over the minds of our teenagers.
I’ve been a mom for thirty-three years, and my children range in age from 33 to 11. While parenting teens has never been easy, I feel a full-fledged assault is being waged against our teens’ minds. Anxiety, fear, and depression are on the rise. So much that was once seen as good and right is now seen as outdated, oppressive, and judgmental. It’s hard for teens to know what to think, who to trust, and what to believe.
In the past few months, I’ve been praying against the darkness that is assaulting my kids’ minds, and I will continue to pray. Won’t you join me?
It’s time to pray for the hearts and minds of our kids. Pray that the beginning roots of dark addictions will start to break. Pray our teens will turn to Jesus and find peace in His presence.
There are many ways to pray, but I’ve found one of the best ways is to pray God’s Word. With the help of godly friends, I’ve compiled a list of twenty-two Scriptures to pray over my teens’ minds. I’ve also included two sample prayers so that you can see how easy it is to pray Scripture. Basically praying Scripture is praying the truths that we read in God’s Word, confirming that what God says is true. Through God’s Word, we can see that there is hope and freedom for our teens. Through God’s Word, we are reminded that no matter what assaults our kids’ minds God is greater.

Here are twenty-two Scriptures you can pray over your teens’ minds. I encourage you to use a notebook or journal and write down these Scriptures. If you write one Scripture a day, along with a prayer, you will create a wonderful prayer guide that you can turn to again and again!

Lord, there is so much that brings fear to my children’s minds. As the fears grow, they become timid and anxious. Lord, I pray that you will give my children a spirit of power to stand up against their fears. I pray you will give my children a spirit of love that breaks down divides and strongholds. I pray you will give my children a spirit of self-discipline so they can choose to live and walk according to your standards so that they will live abundant thriving lives. Protect my children’s minds and hearts and draw them to you.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9
Lord, I pray that my children will not see you as a rule-maker with rules they have a hard time following. Instead, I pray they will see you as a refuge where they can run to in times of trouble. There is so much that oppresses them these days. I pray, even today, for you to put a shield of protection around my children. I pray that in times of trouble my children will run to you and find a firm foundation to stand on. Lord, soften my children’s hearts to your truths and your Word so they may discover how strong you are.
