For When the Season Changes are Just Too Much
Summer has sped by. I can feel the changes in the air. The breeze just smells a little different, donโt you think?
Fall is among us. I love Fall. Itโs absolutely my favorite season. But with season changes comes schedule changes. Life just gets a little busier with school starting and the kidsโ activities in full swing. Sometimes itโs hard to get back into the swing of things. Season changes in our lives often feel the same way. Whether youโre in a fruitful season and everything feels right with the world or whether youโre in the middle of a storm, the changes of the seasons in our lives are often difficult. Many of us our sending our babies off to college for the first time. And some of us might be dropping off our littles to the first day of Kindergarten. Does it feel like whenever you think youโve made it through one season of life that another soon begins?
We certainly are creatures of habit. At least I am! Change is always something Iโve struggled with. Itโs funny how God works through all seasons though, isnโt it? For example, the year and a half that my family and I spent preparing for our move to Ann Arbor to plant a new church was one of the hardest seasons of our lives. But you know what? I wouldnโt change a thing during that journey. Looking back, I can see how He was in action the entire time while we simply had to wait upon HIM. That sure sounds easy as I type this. But I can tell you that in the midst of it, waiting was the last thing we wanted to do.
Psalm 27:14 says, โWait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.โ Sisters, there is so much truth in that! But you know as well as I do that sometimes life is messy. And the waiting just seems like too much.
Can I share a little secret with you that helps me while Iโm waiting during these season changes? I use a lot of Joy and a lot of Peace and Calming. If you donโt know what I typically write about, it's Young Living Essential Oils. And Joy is an oil that I often will rub right over my heart, while Peace and Calming is an oil that I diffuse and apply to my wrists at night to help me sleep. And you know what? With a lot of reading the Word and a lot of talks with my Savior, I somehow managed to make it through that season.
What season are you in right now? Sometimes all we need to do is be STILL and WAIT. God has a way of sifting us and shaping us through every trial, every experience, every season if we let Him. And if you need a little extra help along the way, God created these oils for us too. Whatever season youโre in right now, my prayer for each of you is to trust Him. Trust His goodness. Even if youโre in the midst of a stormy season, this too shall pass. Letโs find our joy during these season changes and relish in the goodness that God has blessed us with in this life.
Blessings!
Nikki
