Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual, although there have been many times I wish it did. Just when I think I’ve got it all figured out, something happens to remind me that I don’t. But amid the struggle, there is a great depth and beauty when it comes to the calling of mothering. We aren’t called to just raise good kids. We are called to shepherd and shape the hearts of our children to one day release them into the world as light, love, and hope. Now I know that sounds ideal and like an insurmountable task. Maybe it is before bed as you simply pray with your child reminding them of how God wants to use them in this world. A lot of these opportunities are spontaneous but it is always crucial to plan as well.
