Is your family practicing hospitality? Your home can be a place where others experience the love of God and the truth of the gospel. So what's stopping you?
Moms, we want to be imitators of Christ, but did you know our children want to be imitators of....us? Having children is like looking in a mirror and seeing our own example on full display. Let's become moms who reflect Jesus!
When was the last time you did something for your husband....just because you love him? Considering his feelings and his favorites (even in the little things) can go a long way to show our husbands we care. Come be blessed in order to be a blessing.
There are many temptations in our world to fall into the trap of believing the lie that we are a failure. As wives, we struggle to compare our marriages to other's marriages, or to what we see portrayed in social media, movies, and in books. As moms, we are tempted to compare how good of mom we are. But the truth is, you are God's child, a daughter of the King. And He has the power to help you overcome any temptation, any obstacle, anything that is overwhelming. All you have to do is ask....
I used to get frightened on those nights when my husband traveled.
For the first 13 years of our marriage he traveled off and on. Some months were worse than others. I remember one particular October he was gone 18 days that month alone. May was the worst month of all. I always dreaded May, the month he was on the road visiting all offices throughout the Pacific NW. There were barely enough days in the month for him to visit them all, so often times travels rolled over into June.
I was scared he would get in a car accident, a plane crash, or worse.
I would lie in bed at night and hear weird noises downstairs, outside on the property, and even down the hall.
I remember putting on a movie to try and distract myself, but all it really did was cause me to worry more.
I realize one of the things that has badgered me and lead me into unwise thinking is unwise teachings. When I was a younger mother and wife, I read books by authors who challenged me as a wife and mother, not made excuses for me. And I really did well with that. It kept me moving forward, even imperfectly.
